FIRST STAGE OF STUDENT ASSESSMENT AT BA THIEN KINDERGARTEN – SCHOOL YEAR 2024-2025

In December 2024, Ba Thien Kindergarten conducted and completed an assessment of the children’s learning and development for the first stage of the School Year 2024-2025 (during September, October, and November).

This evaluation was carried out across all age groups, from children of nursery to preschool.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDENT ASSESSMENT

The assessment was designed to comprehensively track children’s progress, focusing on essential skills such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Vietnamese, as well as listening and speaking in English. These foundational skills support children’s gradual development in language, communication, and cognitive abilities.

Our evaluation approach does not create pressure through grades or rankings. Instead, children are encouraged to participate in age-appropriate learning activities, such as recognizing letters, following instructions, and answering questions from teachers.

ASSESSMENT PROCESS

To ensure transparency and accuracy, the entire assessment process was recorded on video without any editing or modifications. The assessments were reviewed across different class levels for an objective evaluation. Once completed, the school sent individualized videos and evaluation results to each child’s parents.

Teachers closely monitored children’s responses during the assessment to provide a more accurate evaluation of their abilities. This also helps in adjusting teaching methods to better suit each child. Parents, upon reviewing the video recordings, could gain deeper insights into their child’s learning and development.

The assessment results were presented with clear criteria: “Achieved” or “Not Yet Achieved,” emphasizing individual skill development without comparisons between children.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE ASSESSMENT

This assessment is not just part of our educational plan but also a crucial milestone that allows both the school and parents to closely monitor children’s growth. Language skills are integrated into various learning activities, naturally connecting academic progress with cognitive, physical, emotional, and social development.

Ba Thien Kindergarten will continue to enhance and develop innovative educational programs, focusing on modern teaching methods that support children’s holistic development and encourage their confidence in exploring the world around them. Close collaboration between the school and families remains the key to ensuring the best educational outcomes for our children.
